My 1st Chinese New Year

Why is everybody dressed in red??? And why is everyone handing me red pieces of paper? I collected so many pieces of red packets that I lost count of them. I see Mummy and Daddy munching on cookies and tidbits whenever we arrive at somebody's house; they didn't offer me any :( bleh
